Apple have launch a smaller version of their iPad, and they’re calling it the iPad Mini.
This new model is essentially the iPad 2 with a smaller screen and up to date specifications. It’s unbelievable 7.2mm thick which is thinner than a pencil if you can believe it. The WiFi version only weighs 308g while the 3G version weighs 312g, not much difference at all. The screen size is now 7.9-inches in size and has a resolution of 1024×768.
Built with dual-core A5 processor, a front facing HD camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera which equals what you’ll find on a iPhone 4S, so you’ll get very good pictures with it. You still get 10 hours of battery life which is pretty remarkable considering how thin it is.
The expected colour schemes that were wildly publicised across the web in recent weeks did not come into fruition so for now we have the traditional white and black editions.
The iPad mini start at £269. Pre-orders will start from 26th of October and will be available at retail stores on 2nd of November.
I feel this is to high especially when the Nexus7 is now rumoured to be arriving in a 32GB size for just £199!!
Either way people are now saying that those who purchased the iPad 3rd Generation (like me) should be feeling stupid, I completely disagree with this comment. My iPad is a great devise I use daily and is a very useful travel device. Those of you that don’t own a tablet or any form of iDevice should be excited by this new. Those of you like me…sit back and watch people try to get one for Christmas!
